 SPN OVERVIEW
In early-2007, Bitterroot entered into an agreement to acquire a 100-percent interest in the SPN property, approximately 20 kilometres southeast of Barriere, British Columbia. The 467-claim (9,490 hectares) property was staked to cover a relatively unexplored, road-accessible area which is the source of multi-element (Au, Ag, Cu, Co, Pb, Zn and As) stream silt geochemical anomalies.
In 2007, stream-sediment sampling, prospecting and soil sampling identified several areas with highly anomalous polymetallic silver and base metals (Cu-Zn) geochemistry, suggesting that the SPN property has potential for volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization similar to that found elsewhere on the Adams Plateau. The 2008 exploration program at SPN will focus on defining targets for trenching and diamond drilling, beginning with cutting of a 45 line-kilometre grid, followed by soil sampling, prospecting and geologic mapping. A 300 line-kilometre, helicopter-borne Time Domain Electromagnetic Geophysical Survey (VTEM System) was flown in mid-August.
In exchange for a 100-percent interest in the SPN claims, Bitterroot paid the property vendors $10,000 and issued 50,000 shares upon signing, issued 50,000 additional shares and completed $50,000 of exploration expenditures before the first anniversary, will issue 50,000 additional shares before the second anniversary, and will issue common shares with a value of $50,000 prior to the third anniversary. The vendor will retain a two percent (2%) Net Smelter Returns (NSR) royalty on the property, of which Bitterroot can purchase half (1%) for $1-million.
